Carbonic Cleaning

At Charleston Environmental Services we have all your needs taken care of when it comes to dry ice blasting. Our carbonic cleaning equipment uses carbonic pellets, frozen CO2, accelerated at very quick speeds by using compressed air. These carbonic pellets are then thrown at the surface through custom designed hose nozzles.

This combination of the carbonic particles hitting the surface at a high speed and the frigid low temperature of the carbonic pellets, which causes thermal shock, help to break up, lift and separate any unwanted material from the item/building without damaging the item/building itself. Even the most delicate of  materials can be protected during the carbonic cleaning blasting process by using both the correct nozzles and properly adjusting the air pressure of the machine.

Carbonic cleaning & blasting is very  similar to sand blasting, but the main difference between the two is that the carbonic pellets are softer than sand (which helps to protect the item/building) and the pellets turn into C02 gas upon impact and hence not leaving any secondary waste or moisture behind. After the carbonic cleaning & blasting has been completed only the removed material must be disposed of after cleaning.
